Sally Field, playing the character of Nora Walker in the TV series Brothers and Sisters, said that she wanted to feel like she was enough, all by herself, just like she is — enough for the man in life. It would be great if husbands and wives, and even those in serious relationships, could grasp the wisdom in that statement. If each of us, man or woman, could feel that no matter how young or old, no matter how healthy or sick, no matter how kind or brutal time has been to us, no matter our size or shape, no matter what our jobs, our education, our status in life — that the person we love with all our heart, warts and all, feels the same way about us.
